Classic film fans fortunate enough to visit London in the next few months have an interesting opportunity: an exhibit of fashions worn by Grace Kelly, later known as Princess Grace of Monaco, will open at London's Victoria and Albert Museum on April 16th.
The exhibit will include gowns Kelly wore in the films REAR WINDOW, HIGH SOCIETY, and THE SWAN.
The gown she wore to accept her Oscar as Best Actress for THE COUNTRY GIRL will be featured as well.
The exhibit will also feature the dress Kelly wore when she met Prince Rainier and the Helen Rose ensemble she wore for her civil wedding ceremony to Prince Rainier, which preceded the religious ceremony.
The exhibit runs through September 26th.
We enjoyed our brief stop at the V&A last May, which included taking in a small exhibit of gowns worn by Diana, Princess of Wales. Of course, there is much more to the V&A, which contains priceless collections from all over the world.
August 2010 Update: An article on the exhibit in the Los Angeles Times.
