Info Post
Big Disneyland news day today, as a Destination D event has been announced for September, with the next D23 Expo due in Anaheim in August 2011.

Disney announced that they will annually alternate the smaller 2-day Destination D event, to be held this year at the Disneyland Hotel, with the D23 Expo at the Anaheim Convention Center:

"Destination D: Disneyland '55 will offer two full days of special presentations, panels, screenings and guest speakers that let fans meet and talk with key figures in Disneyland's history. Future Destination D events will explore other important aspects of Disney's creative legacy. Following its premiere in September, Destination D will alternate annually with the enormously popular D23 Expo."

I plan to take the plunge and sign up for D23 over the next month or two. I calculated that it's only going to cost $15 more annually than I'm already paying to buy the quarterly Disney Twenty-Three magazine. I definitely would like to attend Destination D.

D23 Twitter has all the pertinent links regarding both Destination D and the D23 Expo.

Disney also confirmed the introduction of the 2-Coasts Pass first mentioned here last week. It is good at both Disneyland/Disney's California Adventure and the Walt Disney World parks, including water parks.

Stay tuned to MousePlanet Twitter and the official Disney Parks Blog as the details on the new pass and D23 events roll out over the course of the day and beyond.
