...HEDY LAMARR: THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMAN IN FILM by Ruth Barton will be published on July 21st. This seems to be the year for Hedy Lamarr books, as BEAUTIFUL: THE LIFE OF HEDY LAMARR, by Stephen Shearer, will be out in September. It's great to know that writers are taking a fresh look at a very interesting woman.

...This list of Alfred Hitchcock's cameos in his films includes photos of his appearances and the minute mark in each film where he appears. Very nice!

...Matthew wrote a terrific post on Glynis Johns at Movietone News. I've got a tape of MIRANDA (1948) I really need to check out. It was directed by Ken Annakin, who also directed Johns in Disney's THE SWORD AND THE ROSE (1953).

...10:00 p.m. has traditionally been the hour for "appointment TV," but the networks are finding that there is new competition in that hour -- from programs recorded by DVR's earlier in the evening.

...New book: THE WAY I SEE IT: A LOOK BACK AT MY LIFE ON LITTLE HOUSE was written by Melissa Sue Anderson, who played Mary on the TV series LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE. Melissa Gilbert, who played Laura, published PRAIRIE TALE last year.
